This is the start of a new version of the carrollgen.org.uk website. The original site was created twenty years ago to share the family research of Carroll family members. I will transfer some of the existing pages to this version and write new pages. The original site can be accessed here.

This site is concerned with the descendants of Lieut.Col. Thomas Carroll. He fought and died at the Battle of the Boyne. His orphaned sons were transported to the North of Ireland. One son was brought up by a Presbyterian family in Moira or somewhere nearby. As an adult he prospered in difficult times. One of his sons, John Carroll became a Presbyterian minister. His younger son, Edward Carroll became a farmer, eventually building a stone house in Creenagh, co. Antrim. Edward’s two eldest sons moved to the burgeoning City of Cork in the 1760s. His youngest son stayed on the farm until 1801 when he emigrated with all his nine children, finally settling in the nascent state of Ohio, USA.

Much of the information about this Carroll family has been transcribed onto WIKITREE. Please explore this information which starts with Lieut.Col. Thomas Carroll.
